Robert Thurman is Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, and co-founder and president of Tibet House US. A close friend of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama for over half a century, Thurman is the first ordained American Buddhist monk in the Tibetan tradition. A passionate activist for the plight of the Tibetan people, a skilled translator of Buddhist texts, and an inspiring writer of popular books on Buddhism—Thurman’s newest book is Wisdom Is Bliss: Four Friendly Fun Facts That Can Change Your Life.
