In a time of unprecedented grief, we wanted to share resources to support anyone dealing with grief and the surrounding emotions.

Editorial director Kalia Kelmenson recently hosted a Facebook live event focusing on grief. With the pandemic, there have been 441,000 deaths so far, and the number grows daily.

It is getting harder and harder to find a person whose life has not been adversely affected by Covid-19. But grief also knows no season, and if you have lost a loved one at any point, you know grief is a difficult, yet necessary, road to journey on. Kalia pulled together some resources to share during the event, and here they are again, in case they are helpful to you. Please share them with anyone you know who is grieving.

Turning to Nature

“Turn to Nature With Your Grief: An excerpt from Opening to Grief: Finding Your Way from Loss to Peace, by Claire B. Willis and Marnie Crawford Samuelson. Willis and Samuelson share a meditation, poem, and suggestions on dealing with grief.

Grieving a Child

"And This is How Our World Will Change”: Written by Joanne Cacciatore, PhD. Dr. Cacciatore runs the MISS Foundation, which aids families grieving the loss of a child or who are about to lose a child.

Finding Meaning in Grief

David Kessler, a renowned grief expert, experienced the sudden death of his son after he had begun writing his book Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief. He writes about “Why We Must Witness Grief.” Kessler also appeared on our podcast discussing his work and ways to move with grief into meaning. Listen in here.
