Explore the Power of Stories at the 2020 Festival of Faiths

“A diverse lineup of speakers and artists will explore the power of stories to transform, to inspire and to heal individuals and communities.”

Each year, faith leaders, researchers, scholars, artists, and luminaries from around the world converge in Louisville, Ky., to engage in conversations of meaning at the annual Festival of Faiths. Over the years, the Festival has featured an impressive roster of presenters ranging from Rabbi Rami Shapiro to Woman Stands Shining, from Deepak Chopra to Archbishop Michael Fitzgerald, from the Rev. Joan Brown Campbell to Arun Gandhi—and many more.

The festival is a space for authentic dialogue and deep insights, seeking not only to unite and enlighten, but also to serve as a catalyst for positive change in our world through interfaith understanding. The upcoming 25th Anniversary Festival of Faiths (April 21-25, 2020) will carry on that tradition while celebrating the power of narratives to give meaning and connection in a complex world.

The 2020 theme, Sacred Stories: Contemplation and Connection, will examine the importance of stories at the heart of humanity. Through dialogue, music, poetry, art, and film, this nationally acclaimed interfaith celebration will investigate the space where ancient and modern narratives co-exist in our lives, instilling a sense of belonging and purpose and providing context for contemporary topics of concern.

A diverse lineup of speakers and artists will explore the power of stories to transform, to inspire and to heal individuals and communities. Sessions will highlight the use of sacred story within world religions to deepen a sense of purpose; shifts in intergenerational sharing of wisdom and culture; the dangers of false narratives to self and communal identity; the impact of recent technologies on faith and community; and much more.

Both the U.S. Senate and the Parliament of the World’s Religions have recognized the Festival of Faiths as a model of interfaith activity, and it’s become one of the country’s top spiritual travel destinations.
