Dosha-licious: Pitta Radiant

Dosha-licious: Pitta Radiant

Pitta, you are the light of the world. You bring us color, vision, clarity, focus, enthusiasm, adventure!

This is the second in a 3-part series on the doshas, an Ayurvedic terms which refers to the bio-energies of life, and relating to the energies and priniciples of the five elements: space and air combine to give Vata dosha, fire with some water gives Pitta dosha, and water with earth give Kapha dosha.

Pitta Radiant

Pitta, you are the light of the world. You bring us color, vision, clarity, focus, enthusiasm, adventure!

You are strong when the going gets tough, you are motivating when the going gets rough. You shine a light so we can see the way forward, and you offer a vision we can all rally around.

And you are a perfectionist! At times you may need to remind yourself that everything is already perfect, everything is flowing, everything is good, great, majestic, and you are exactly the right person at the right time, where you need to be - all is unfolding beautifully.

To be Pittalicious

  • Drink lots of water preferably room temperature with coconut, mint, lime, and/or cucumber slices.
  • Make lunch your biggest meal, including cooling foods and spices like lettuce, arugula, leafy greens, mint, fennel, coriander, cilantro.
  • Get to sleep by 10 PM, otherwise you’re entering into the Pitta time when your mind will begin to churn on all that needs doing. Rest and allow yourself the peace of letting go.
  • Swim, surf, bike, walk to move and release the Pitta energy.
  • Meditation clears the mind and invites ease. Meditate on the mantra I am OK, everything is all right, I am exactly where I need to be, I am a living ray of light, living my life on purpose and from the heart.

Remember, your radiance, warmth and spirit light up our world. You are everything we need to see the beauty and the glory of life. We appreciate you and thank you for being our leaders, coaches, visionaries.

Share this with a Pitta friend to remind them of their light. Or, invite them over for lunch and share with them this cooling, pitta-balancing salad.

Pitta-balancing Salad

Blood cleansing, liver strengthening, inflammation reducing, this deliciously cooling salad for pitta, combines cooked foods with raw. With ingredients already prepped, this lunch comes together in minutes. I haven’t added amounts of ingredients, even though I know Pitta likes precision. This is an opportunity to let your intuitive wisdom lead, play, guide.

Artichoke hearts in a jar
Steamed beets

Fistful of cilantro, parsley, mint - one, two or all, torn
