"It is more important for you to keep the resolutions you have already made than to go on and make noble ones." - Seneca, Philosopher

Most of us already have a pretty good idea of the activities in life that make us happy, sane, and well adjusted: It’s just that we shortchange ourselves by compromising on self-care. Usually exercise, meditation, and a good diet are the first things to go out the window when a stressful situation arises. Of course, this only makes matters worse as our physical and mental health deteriorate. To get things back on the right track, we have to begin with today and not with self-blame and self-doubt connected to the past. Each day is a new chance to start anew, to live the life that we most want to live.

As this day begins, give yourself permission to care about your mind and body. Your physical condition is not everything, and the body is only a vehicle, but feeling good makes it easier for you to care about yourself and others. This morning, try doing a few yoga asanas or your favorite form of exercise. Take a long lunch break and sneak some time outdoors. See yourself becoming more serene and loving as you take care of your physical condition.
